About 2,000 Oklahoma Gas and Electric Co. customers still were without power Sunday evening after the weekend ice storm.

More than half of those without power were in Oklahoma City, while Norman had about 350 people without electricity.

Major roads in the Oklahoma City area were clear Sunday as sunny skies helped to melt what remained of the ice from Friday night and Saturday.

Officials said roads in the northwest part of the state remained snow- and ice-packed, and were expected to remain so as overnight temperatures were expected to dip below 20 degrees.

The National Weather Service forecast highs will remain about freezing Monday but should climb into the 40s the rest of the week.

Lara O'Leary, spokeswoman for the Emergency Medical Services Authority, said paramedics did not have a single weather-related call Sunday.

“We had 22 yesterday, which was a very large number, mostly people slipping and falling on the ice,” O'Leary said.
