The Oklahoma County Sheriff's Department will step up drunken driving enforcement through New Year's Day.
The effort is part of a national campaign called “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over,” organized by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
“As part of that we'll have saturation DUI patrols, which is deputies targeting specific areas looking for drunk drivers,” sheriff's office spokesman Mark Myers said.
The local effort will not include DUI checkpoints, Myers said.
