Strong winds fueled grass fires across the metro Sunday.
Crews were fighting fires Sunday afternoon in Oklahoma, Logan, Canadian, Grady and Lincoln counties.
The National Weather Service issued a Red Flag Fire Warning for much of the state.
The combination of dry air and winds of between 25 and 35 miles per hour created serious fire danger, forecasters said.
The largest fires were in Logan County near the Guthrie area and west of Piedmont in Canadian County.
The weather service's Red Flag warning was issued for all but the Oklahoma Panhandle and one county in far southeastern Oklahoma and is in effect until 6 p.m.
